CULTER FOOTBALL CLUB

League Leaders: Culter have made a remarkable start to the Printagraph Super League campaign and, at time of writing, have 100’ record Culter are clear cut League leaders with full points out of the first seven games. In addition, Culter have the best defensive record in the league having conceded only two goals, and are also the division’s top scorers, at this stage, totalling 19 goals.

Lynn ’s Lottery Luck: Our main sponsor Doug Milne’s wife l. n was the outright £2,900 winner of our lottery dated 18 October 2003 . Doug and Lyn’s immense support was rewarded thanks to Lady Luck. It is the first time the prize has been claimed at under £3,000.

Dinner Date: Our Celebrity Dinner XVIII is scheduled to take place in the Dyce Skean Dhu on Friday 14 November 2003 . Guest Speaker is Tony Higgins, Secretary of the Scottish Professional FootbaIlers’ Association; the Comedian is Terry Joyce who hails from the north east of England; and Peter Mitchell, Press & Journal columnist, is welcomed back as Compere.

Cup Competition: Culter made exits from Grill League Cup and the North/Tayside Regional Cup competition on successive weeks at the end of September 2003. Culter lost to Glentanar and East End respectively after having beaten both of them on consecutive Saturdays in Super League games a few weeks before. Culter had produced an amazing second half display to beat  Stoneywood 7—I to win Section 5 of the Grill League Cup by a goal difference of one over Banks o’Dee who had beaten Parkvale 6-1 on the same day. It was therefore disappointing to go out of the Grill league Cup to Glentanar in our quarter final tie by 1-0 at Crombie Park. We also made an early exit from the North/Tayside by losing 2- I to East End at Culter in the first round.

Committee Changes: We had a disappointing departure of General Secretary Ian ‘Kip’ McKenzie due to personal circumstances and finding it difficult to find the time and motivation to continue in the post. Ian joined us on 19 March 1991 and gave us sterling service over the past twelve years. Steven Davidson stepped down as Pavilion Convener also due to personal commitments but we are pleased that he is continuing as a Committee member. Grant Home volunteered to take over the role of Pavilion Convener.

Playing Pool: Team Manager, Bobby Gray  made four additions to the playing pool. The four players welcomed were Neil Cowie from Islavale, Gordon McDonald from Wick Academy, whilst Cohn Craik and then Bruce Cardno both joined us from Buckie Thistle.

Season’s Sponsors: Culter Football Club have enjoyed various forms of past sponsorship from Aberdein Considine & Company. They have continued as our Match Ball Sponsors for the entire 2003 / 2004 season, the same as they did last season.
