due to their waterlogged pitch. The game now goes on next Saturday, see
overleaf for details.
40 Years Ago. Our
Amateur League Division 11 match due to be played on Saturday 29
November 1969, Culter v College of Education at Crombie Park, was postponed. At
our Committee

Forbes was
presented with an engraved tankard in recognition of his services as President
from 1960 — 1969.

20 Years Ago In the 2nd Round of the Scottish Junior Cup Culter drew 2 —2
with Buchanhaven Hearts at Raemoss Park, Peterhead, on Saturday 25 November
1989. Our line up was:R Seivwnight; M Craigmile, C Ferries; S Rose, E Shearer, C
Marnoch; M Kennedy, L Mason, B Burnett, K Kennedy, A Johnstone; Substitutes: W
Cuthill and P Thomson.
Our scorers were Les Mason and Bryan Burnett. “Shiner”s remarkable 85th minute
goal seemed to have won the tie — Bryan fell and whilst lying on the ground he
hit the ball into the net off the post. Next minute he went down injured after
being kicked on the ear and was taken to Hospital after the match to have
stitches inserted in his ear wound. The game ran 3 minutes into resultant injury
time and Culter were shocked when Buchanhaven equalised in the dying seconds.
Culter won the replay the following week at Crombie Park 2 — 0 through Bryan
Burnett and Miilar Kennedy goals. Our 4 Celebrity Dinner was held on Monday 13th
November 1989 with the excellent turnout of 350 gentlemen. Mr Abie was a capable
Compere, Craigie Veitch was a brilliant after dinner Speaker whilst Guest
Speaker Lawrie McMenemy gave a long informative talk on football.
10 Years Ago. Culter lost a Premier Division game 2—0 to FC Stoneywood at
Crombie Park on Saturday 27 November 1999 through goals from M Low and former
Culter player Cameron “Soapy” McKay. The Referee was Willie Young and our team

2002. We went down 2 — 1 in a closely contested match. Neil McRitchie had opened
the scoring in the 2 minute but his vital 2’ half penalty was saved by the
Bathgate ‘keeper. The half time score was 1 — 1 and the Bathgate winner came
with 5 minutes left on the clock. The Referee was W Gilfillan and our team that
afternoon was:-
